Our aim is to provide a well-rounded music education to people of all ages.

Why 23? This number is taken from one of our favorite pieces, Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 23 in F minor, Op. 57, also known as the Appassionata.

  • About
    Mr Tan has been teaching the piano since 1997. He has previously taught at several music schools, including Yamaha Music School. During his time at these schools, he conducted both one to one and group classes for mainly children using their exclusive curriculums. He is also an experienced accompanist for various instrumental and singing exams, for both solo and group performers. He has also worked as a choir pianist and assistant conductor at numerous MOE schools, accompanying them for their weekly practises and their biennial SYF arts presentation. Besides teaching, Mr Tan has also served as a volunteer at the SGH Colorectal Cancer Support Group for their weekly choir practises and performances. He has also played the keyboard in several pop/rock bands playing popular hits. Mr Tan has a Diploma in Piano Performance (Trinity College London), ABRSM Piano Grade 8 (Distinction) and ABRSM Theory Grade 8. He has the privilege of being taught by Mr Lee Tack Fah for his music theory. He was also among the first batch of students to be selected for the Gifted Education Programme (GEP) when it was first implemented in 1984.
  • Lessons
    Classical piano lessons Lessons leading to exams using either the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) or Trinity College London syllabus. Although digital exams are the norm for now, we still emphasize on sight-reading and aural training, as these are essential skills for a good musician. Lessons include: Music theory Technical exercises Sight-reading Aural training Piano lessons for leisure Don't want to take exams? Fret not, we can also teach you how to play your favorite pop and contemporary songs by popular pianists like Joe Hisaishi (Studio Ghibli), Yiruma, Ludivico Einaudi, Alberto Giurioli, Richard Clayderman, etc. Lessons will include chord knowledge and improvisation, and also how to play by ear. Lessons include: Basic music theory Knowledge of keys and scales Knowledge of chords and inversions Basic accompaniment/harmonization patterns How to read lead/fake sheets How to read numbered notation (簡譜) Free non-obligatory trial lesson If you are undecided about learning from us, or if you are keen but unsure of what you want to learn, please feel free to contact us for a free trial lesson.
  • Services
    Piano accompaniment for instrumental and singing exams We provide experienced pianists who know how to complement and enhance your playing. ​​​ Pianist for functions, weddings, parties, etc Need a pianist for your event? Let us know what kind of music you would like to listen to. ​ Sheet music transcription and/or arrangement Did you compose a song but want to make it sound better? Or did you have a melody in your head but could not pen it down? We can help you put your ideas on paper.
  • Studio
    Our studio is equipped with a Made in Japan Yamaha baby grand piano which is tuned and maintained by Mr Leonard Soh, who is a Master Piano Technician and Piano Consultant trained by Yamaha. ​ We sanitize our studio after every student, so rest assured that you will be having your lesson in a clean environment. ​ We are also equipped with a CCTV for safety purposes.
  • Information
    Fees are payable on the first of every 4 lessons. No deposit or registration fee is required. ​ Lessons are conducted on every week of the year, including public holidays.
